'Doodles for Darfur' is an initiative set up with the primary aim of raising money for those who have been affected by the war crimes and genocide in Darfur, through the Aegis Trust and in affiliation with Aegis Students.
This initiative begins with the help of students at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth donating photographs, illustrations and paintings that they think are worthwhile to the cause, with the hope that they will be auctioned for a satisfactory price. As well as raising money for the people of Darfur, this event will help spread the awareness of modern Genocide and humanitary injustice.
It is crucial for us as creative individuals to not only have a political and cultural conscience, but a social conscience as well.
We have an advantage as artists to bring a fresh and creative voice to causes of this nature, and often, our voice can be the most effective.
Remember that we are the future, let our voices be heard.
